As a food enthusiast, I've been reading up on it for quite some time but haven't gone yet. Have you gone? Would you go again?

I went there for my birthday a couple years ago. Phenomenal meal...I had lamb that was perfectly cooked, the service was great, and the tab wasn't as awful as I would have expected. I was really impressed.
The executive chef, Johnny Monis, used to be the executive chef for Chef Geoff's when it first opened its New Mexico Ave location. Really nice guy with a lot of great ideas.
At the time, his pastry chef put out some amazing desserts, too. I'm not sure if it's the same person, but I'm sure if they can take #1 in Washington mag, the desserts are still good.

...is identical to that of a sweetened, milk concentrate paste that came in a tube, made by Tamilk in Slovakia. I was there with Rotary Club in 2000, and one of us got a tube of Komi packed in his lunch by his host family. Miles of fun ensued.
So, I'll have to get over that before trying Komi.

I don't usually go to places that pricey for my wallet, but b/c my friend worked their and it was his last day, we decided to give it a try.
We got the more expensive dinner selection, basically letting the Chef make what he pleased. The portions were small, but plentiful and well timed. You leave feeling just right, not hungry, not stuffed.
IIRC, you can bring your own favorite wine if you like...or I saw some others do it.
Also keep in mind to be ready for a long dinner. Make sure you bring people you like and can chat a long time with
