Default LAtint wont warranty their own work if you get a non-legal tint

I wanted 35% around, but apparently in VA 50% is the max legal on the front windows.

(I have 35% now on the S4, in VA 2.5 years now, no problems)

I said "ok, I still want 35% all around, not just in the back." they said they cant warranty it for any manuf./installation defects.

I said "why not? I understand that if the police make me take it off thats not your fault, but if the tint is improperly installed (i.e. a bubble forms) you wont fix it?" He said 'we can fix it but you have to pay for it'

They wouldnt even warranty the back windows if I got 35 % all around even though 35% is legal in the back.

He said his hands are tied, its a franchise thing, he'd like to warranty it, which ok I get, but Im not going to spend $300 and then not have a warranty if the tint is installed wrong.

I left without getting the A3 tinted. I doubt I will return to LAtint.

Any other suggestions besides LAtint that will guarantee their own work, even if the tint % isnt VA legal?

Default Tintshop in rockville (on rockville pike next 2 carmax). They did my old honda and

only charged ~$200 for all the windows. $100 more for the windshield which they also warrantied (totally not kosher in MD). I had a 20% 360 degree wrap on the car. full warranty. not VA, but they were good. i hear HotTint in rockville is pretty good too. i might try them out when i decide to tint my car.

Default they told me the same thing at the Alexandria location however....

in Springfield they said it is no problem. A month or so after I had it done the front bubbled a bit and they redid the window for me. I did this in 2004 so hopefully they will do it for you.

Default They told me its a franchise thing, so I assume now all of LAtint does this

They did tell me they used to warranty it.

Its such a BS decision on their part. Im not asking them to fix it if the cops make me take it off, I just want them to warranty their own work.

Im reluctant to go to any other LAtint location.

Default I've always said that LA Tint is expensive for nothing

and this just furthers why I won't use them.

I've used Tint Shop in Rockville for like ten cars now.

Default I can understand that

I know of a place in Waldorf that charges like $120. They did my friends S4 about 2 years ago and it looks great, no fading.

Default uh...... 2nd on the "you tinted your windshield?!"

honestly, that's about one of the most unsafe things I've ever heard of. Your visibility at night must be spectacular. (Mental note: find out where beergoggles drives at night, I think I know a way to get myself a new car.)
