Default MPG isn't as good as you'd expect. GTI gets better mileage (on paper)

than the Rabbit.

Default we went in looking at a Rabbit

and bought another GTI. the 2.5 i5 is gutless, even w/ a manual. and like Simon said, the GTI does get better mpg when driven with a light foot.
