Default Low coolant level. Slow leak?

At the last VIR Tech Inspection someone saw coolant residue near the "overun pump"(?) but I have never had any noticeable fluid loss.

A week of very hot weather seems to have accelerated the problem. I added about a quart of fluid to get the level back up to the full marking.

Any ideas?

Default yeah, that pump is leaking. Mine currently is as well...

From what i understand it's a bit of a pain to replace due to it's location. The coolant loss is exacerbated during the summer months as the pump works hardest when its hot naturally.

The Induktion guys can tell you more I'm sure.

Default Yea that thing sucks replaced mine this winter..............

the pump is about $125-150 bucks and it sits under the intake manifold so that would have to come off. While you are in there check a bunch hoses that are back there I had a lot of cracks and tears. I just kept adding more and more coolant before I decided to go to Piggie and get it fixed. I went through about a gallon of coolant. Here are some pics it just keeps adding up on the intake manifold.

Default Check the T fitting at the reservoir. Mine was leaking on the valve cover.

I bought a new T ($21 list..ouch!) before investigating. All I needed was a 'real' hose clamp on the radiator hose. HTH.
