Default Maryland Vehicle Inspection...nothing aftermarket?

I moved to Baltimore in July, and have a few aftermarket parts on the car. Probably nothing noticeable, k04, chip, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, ECS pulley. Today I went to get a custom exhaust done, and they noticed my out of state plates. He asked if I was going to register to MD, and have an inspection done. He stated they would not pass my car with an aftermarket exhaust. What about my drilled/slotted rotors? An exhaust system fails a vehicle even if the catylitic converter is stock?

Default Sounds like someone is feeding you BS hoping you'll agree to more work

There is a reason these exhaust systems are designated "50 state legal".

Default According to the books, aftermarket exhaust is a no-no.

IME. you need to find a **** of an inspector to flag you for exhaust and drilled rotors. The way I interpret the exhaust law is that you can't have 'loud' aftermarket exhaust...otherwise a Midas muffler would be illegal!
The inspections are safety inspections, I guess loud(er) exhausts cause accidents!?

Default I have heard of people mentioning this...

You really have to find out what the law says word for word. As mentioned below, if any non-OEM exhaust was illegal, and midas installed muffler would be ground for rejection. That's just rediculous (doesn't make sense). If there is a noise requirement, then measure your car to see if it passes the noise requirement.

Default I have an Ractive high flow muffler for the rear and a high flow resonator for the middle. I wanted

someone to do the 2.5" piping/welding and install. Does this sound like it will be too loud?

You're asking the wrong person. Not much is too loud next to my car.

Default "Ractive" and "high flow resonator"

Both those words sound like they are going to throw you over whatever noise regs the state may have.

Just do the exhaust after you get it inspected & registered in MD.
