Monday was a sad day....put down my bubby Hobbes. We miss him dearly.
Had him checked out by vet last week - healthy as a horse. Vet was very surprised by the fairly dangerous aggression he was showing due to general breed characteristics. Talked it over with a bunch of people and came to the very difficult conclusion. So we put him down Monday. One of the worst days of my life.
Miss ya buddy - may you run free and chase critters and eat ice cream all day and sleep on the biggest comfy bed all night. Still very sad. He was a beautiful, regal animal. We did really try.....I just pray we did the right thing.
Sorry Zippy - not trying to steal thunder, but your post got me sad again and typing things out seems to help a little.

Don't dwell on if you did the right thing. You did what you could and I know the decision was not rash.
Where ever they go from here, I sure our Abigail is on the welcoming committee and pointing out where all the good snacks and the most comfy pillows are located.

Thanks erich....appreciate that Abigail is looking out for him.
Its funny - the thought of him free to be him now is the thing that gets me most upset. Why is that? I should be happy for him now, right?
