My dog is sticking her tongue out at me...
this happens on a daily basis...she won't come inside after I take her out for the last time before leaving for work...

I had the same problem with my Westie...
...picked him up from the groomers - and came out looking like a white schnauzer. It's been about 3 months now - just getting back to normal.
