Default yes, a roll bar and it definitely did help...the bar stopped the impact near his head
you can tell in the pictures but the a-pillar was only stopped by the roll bar

Default Ouch, prolly the worst place to take a concentrated hit...
The door doesn't offer much for crush, the rocker panel gets over-ridden, and the driver's *** is about a foot from the source of the other object/vehicle. :/
Hope he/she makes a full recovery.

Default he came back to the track late in the day on Saturday...
bottle full of vicoden ready to begin his recovery...really sucks though, really really nice guy. Scary stuff

Default well, from his stats, it looks as if he's a back marker at every race.
I wonder how much seat time he's had before entering this series.

I stand corrected. I guess the missing element is the door bars. (Aka NASCAR bars.)

Default Nice write-up. Not that I ever planned on doing a TA, but this confirmed that I won't.
Sounds like poorly run events with lots of incidents. Not a good combo.
