Default Jim, they must not like you

Again, I've gotten 3 reckless' in the past 6 months. I went to court for 2 and just mailed in the thired. My DMV report just has them as speeding, all reduced.

Default If it's your first offense a Lawyer will only hit your pockets harder

You have a good chance of getting it reduced to speeding on your own

Default 100% luck

Not trying to take that away from you, but it's unlikely to happen that nicely for anyone else.

Default Me

I just went in and played humble. Admitted to speeding but did not admitt to reckless. i.e. said I know I was speeding but there is no way I was going XXmph. The key is to be real polite, but mature about it. If the Judge sees you as a responsible adult, most of the time they will give you a break. In my case the judge never said she/he was reducing it. I didn't find out till DMV report. Essentially they just want your money. Like I said above, if this is your first offense I wouldn't bother with a lawyer.

Default whatever it was I'll take it...

But my last name starts w/ a R, so I sat throiugh the majority of the cases and saw the results of the cases before me. It's the punks that get hit, the guys that show up in court in jeans and a hoody. The dudes that looked like they were on there way to work were like
yes
no
yes
bang
pay fine and throught the door

Default True, and luck is always more profitable than diligence (unfortunately)

I won't take it from you if you don't take it from me:

cited for 88/55 in Maryland by MTA police - dismissed, officer had an emergency and could not show up.

cited for 72/55 in a construction zone on 95, in maryland, by MTA police - dismissed, cop didn't show, no explanation.

w00t!
