Default Need advice. Buying a used car from a Delaware resident. I'm in PA. What do we do?

She is a family friend. Her Dad's name is on the title. He's in India. Her Mom can sign his name. No lein. Do I get her to sign a bill of sale and the title. Bring to PA to a tag shop. Register the car. Is that it?

If we need a notary... I know a notary in PA who would like the Moms sign for the Dad. or would we need a DE notary?

Or is a notary involved. State websites are giving me confusing answers. Thanks in advance.

oooo-a3, len, a friend, suggested this link below. looks good. any actually from DE sell a car to a PA resident and have experience?<ul><li><a href="http://www.lawdepot.com/contracts/bill-of-sale/">http://www.lawdepot.com/contracts/bill-of-sale/</a</li></ul>

What is a "tag shop?" Do they make fake tags or something?

Default what keeps those tag shops in business is the better question. you can get car reg done online.

basically, PA DMV is slow and you get your car/plate reg in the mail about 6 weeks before its due to expire and if you let it sit around before mailing it back, then you don't have the updated one to take to PA inspection(s) place to get those renewed to the following year. the inspection places shouldn't allow you to get updated state inspection/emissions stickers unless the car itself is up to date. so, it's a fine line of coordinating that...basically with yourself, DMV and you local shop all in a short period of time. Over the years, I don't think I have ever mailed that thing in when you can do it online, take a printout that it's been paid/updated and you have an extension...all for the same fee as if you would've mailed a check to the DMV. these tag places can do the same for you, but they charge a fee to do this for you... which is basically the same thing you do online.

PA outsources Tags to private industry. Tag "Shacks" by the side of the road is accurate..
