For PCA, do you have to have a Porsche to be a member? How about their events?

PCA seems to typically have weekend events. Is it worth it to get a membership for just that?
Or should I asl if someone would be willing to let me be a affiliate member?
Let me know.

You have to own a Porsche to be a full PCA member, but you don't have to own one to be an affiliate.
PCA Potomac has been opening "away" events (i.e., Mid Ohio, Watkins Glen, VIR) to other marques this year if they haven't filled up with Porsches. The away events are typically three days, Fri thru Sunday, and the price for three days over a weekend is a little less than a two day ACNA event during the week.
If their events end up wait-listed with Porsches, then they don't open them up to other marques. The local events at Summit have typically filled up quickly, but the event later this month had some space in the un-instructed run groups and they opened those up for non-Porsches as a result. Considering how crappy Summit has become this year, they may have more trouble in the future filling up the local events. Other PCA regions also run at Summit, often on weekends, and they will likely open up participation to other marques to fill their events.
So, your best bet is to find an AWMA buddy who is a full PCA member, and doesn't have a family member as an affiliate, and who is willing to name YOU as their affiliate! Then you may be able to run in PCA events sponsored by Potomac or other regions, both locally and also at the (much better) tracks in other locations.
