Photo radar ticket in DC! Argh!
I didn't know DC was using photo radar. And I probably had my V1 on at the time. Well at least there's no points involved.
This was on 295 South just past Pennsylvania Ave SE. The speed limit is 50 and they say I was doing 66 on a Monday afternoon at 4pm. I have one month to pay the $100 fine or else it goes to $200.
I'd fight it if I could but the truth is I was probably doing that speed. The picture they provided looks like I was the only car on the road.
DC drivers beware!

the ticket is for the driver
If I wasn't driving, I can fill in the name and address of whoever was driving my car, and then they get the ticket.
I doubt they would ever give a ticket for reckless based only on photo radar. In VA, reckless is a required court date, and photo radar is simple revenue generation without getting the courts involved. It keeps costs down and maximizes profits.
So they might send a stern letter about the speed if it were in the category of reckless, but probably still just give you a stiff fine.
Mine was listed as "16-20 MPH over the limit".
