thus I only put them on for track events. Tho I've driven home from track with them, and they felt/sounded fine to me on the street... just VERY squeaky.
But keep in mind of how light the Miata is, so I don't think the cold pads would really 'wear' that much. Plus it's not like the pad is hard like tool steel or anything... so I'm not too worry about the rotor wear.
I think if anything, cold Blues might also be good at 'scraping' off the previous pad compounds on the rotors.
Oh, and Miata blank rotors are like $15-$20 a pop, much much cheaper than the cost of track pads ($90~$100 for a set of Blue Fronts).
