Default hey, question on your Motive...

For power bleeding the brakes, how much pressure do you apply??

I tried up to 15 psi on my home-made unit, and I could only get a small trickle from F calipers, even smaller trickle from R calipers. I had an Audi tech mention once they use 2 bars. That's almost 30 psi! I didn't dare try it and blow out my reservoir.

Default That's a great deal. I have a lesser model and use it a lot.

Makes changing the oil on lawnmowers and other small gas engines a breeze.

Default don't really need much pressure at all...maybe 5-6 pumps.

but then i think my motive was on its way out. I've read that it only needs a couple of pumps.

I'm hoping this fluid sucker with the attachment will work better.

Default Hmmm....

I must be doing something wrong then. Of course also, I was told the ABS module needs to be manually opened (with a dealer/VAG tool, which I don't have... yet) for bleeding as well. Maybe that's the problem.

Default That shouldn't be an issue. You only need to cycle the ABS with a VAG-COM when you run the

reservoir dry and air gets in the pump.

Also, some cars don't need the ABS cycled. We looked up the procedures for Tomasz's A4 and for his year, the ABS pump did not need to be cycled, and it was not possible to do so.
