quick poll....Z4 M or SLK55 AMG
both in black and convertible.
I know one is 6 speed and the amg is auto.
I actually would prefer the auto.
I've decided not to wait for the V8 M3 since its probably not gonna be faster than the S4 and the fact that it is still a 4 door.
I want something nice to drive during the spring/summer/fall season down in NC/VA beach =)

Neither. S2000!
Take a test drive, and you'll be hooked. Much better than to the two other you mentioned. I have not been impressed with the other two, as far as driving is concerned.
If you really want more power, than the Cayman S is your answer.

I'm staying away from hondas mainly because i grew out of it
I'm very impress with the SLK styling and i'm leaning more towards it than MZ4.
Hmm... I havent look into the caymen s yet
similar price range?

It's not all about power...
I'd say the AMG would fit what you want best. It's a torque monster and easier for street driving. Torque rules on the street. Plus you say you would like an automatic. The AMG SLK also handles relatively well for what it is. Plus Marvin, there's the bling of the hard top convertible roof. You know you like the bling maaaaan! :-P
As a pure driving machine, the BMW dominates the Merc. It's a far more tactile machine and you have to work some to extract the performance. It's no Boxster S, but you don't have to work as hard and on the street it's a faster car.
At the end of the day, the S2000 and Boxster are much better drivers cars than these two. But for street only, def the AMG SLK.
Now, you start comign out to the track, and all bets are off. ;-)
