Everything about my new-to-me 944 is pristene, but it has the classic old car smell. It's not a bad smell. It's kind of like an old boat smell. Charming in a sense, but if given the choice, I'd rather not have it.
If I had to guess, I'd blame seat foam or carpeting.
Any ideas on masking or eliminating it?

I used desiccant bags to get a cat sh*t smell (don't ask) out of my 5000. It either worked or the odor decided go away within 2 days after I used the bags...after over a month of stank.

at minimum for the carpet, remove the sound deafening material underneath it. They are great at trapping moistures -> stinkiness. Removing those made my Miata from HOLY stinky -> a nice spring-time fart stinky!
