Restaurant and/or place to get a drink in Rockville?
Any recommendations? Traditional fare, Thai, or Italian? Also, any place cool to just hang out and get a drink. Do not want overly noisy or clubby atmosphere.

#1 pick is Houston's. #2 pick is Timpano's, #3 pick is Tara Thai
Houston's is on the corner of 355 & Bou Avenue. Like, if you're heading northbound on the Pike, it's after Randolph Road, on the left side. If you've gotten to Twinbrook Pkwy, you've gone too far. Timpano's is across the street in the Barenes & Noble shopping center, as is Tara Thai.
If you go to Houston's, ask for Chris or John (they're both Asian) and they'll take care of you. Tell em Jim sent you.

Nah, Timpano's is not over rated...best mussels ever!
Houston's may be a chain but it's a real good one at that. Service and food are all top quality.
If you're a Thai food junky, I might skip Tara Thai then. It's good, but there are better places out there.
