Default Saga update: bent conrod; replacement cheaper than rebuild

looks bad. As i stated in the b5 forum, it looks like a brand new AWM block, 2.8 tranny and new clutch while everything's out. instead of modding like crazy (oh and also since i'm going to be broke as sh!te), i'm going to spend a couple hundred bucks on top of that to get the car in sellable condition (side scratches, windshield). not sure whether i'll be selling or not yet, but it's become a grim reality.

anyone want some 15" swing wheels? :-P

Why put a 2.8 tranny in if you plan to sell... unless its cheaper than a 1.8 tranny.

there's a full setup, AEB 1.8T engine(minus turbo) and a quattro 5 speed manual trans for it, sitting at the shop....taking up room......for sale.

How hard is the ATW to AEB conversion... just ECU, some wiring harnesses?

Default Ah yes. I see I've jumped into something I wasn't quite up to speed on......

going from ATW to an AEB is kind of backwards. Not worth it.

But, "just .... some wiring harnesses" is usually no small feat.

But possibly doable... you could justify it for ease of tuning... though thats mute these days.
