Default Silence is Golden

Got the fuel pump recall taken care of. I feel much better now that I have a silent fuel pump and not one that has been whining for the last 15K miles. Thanks Audi and HBL.

Default silence may be nice, but the smell of gas as soon as you open the door sure sucks :)

luckily mine went away after a couple days.

Default but pump whine is character to the car ;)

at least that's what I like to label the fuel pump noise on the 4000 haha.

Default ahaha, you keep telling yourself that

as you'll inevitably have to add one more line item to that expense spreadsheet that captures every dollar you've spent on that $200 car. :P

Rumor on the street is that my fuel pump job is $1K. Take that for what you will.

Default Sounds about right.

Had a '98 Trans Am and my fuel pump was intermittently failing and after two unsuccessful trips to the dealer for a fix, it died on me completely. So the dealer "hooked me up" by only charging me for the part, which was $440, and they picked up the $500+ for the labor. Should have been totally free but whatever, the car is long since been sold. Had other major reliability issue with the transmission but still miss its 305hp.
