Yes, it's this time again, time to hit the high road in search of good photo ops and good food and good time. The weather forecast calls for sunny skies and 67 degrees.
The meeting spot is a rest area on I66 westbound, mile marker 48. Let's plan to meet there at *11:30am* (updated!). Please try to be there on time, bring a full tank of gas, at least $15 cash per car for the entrance fee and frs radios if you have them. If you have two, bring them both to share with those who don't.
From the rest area we'll drive I66 west to the Skyline entrance and follow it down to route 33, stopping along the way at several outlooks and scenic areas. The drive with stops should take around 4 hours, ending with an early dinner at the Bavarian Chef restaurant.

I need to stress this again as I did last year, this is a leasurely cruise, not a race. The park is heavily patrolled and if you speed you will most likely get a ticket. Also, most common complaint from previous years is folks driving too close together and having to ride the brakes all the time. Please, let's give everyone plenty of room to enjoy the experience. Looks like this year we'll have a mix of cars in our group, some Audis, some 350Zs, maybe a VW or two, if you'd like to invite friends to come along that's fine, the more the merrier, however I will need a head count of people who plan to eat at Bavarian Chef later in the week.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the trail!
