I know we usually don't get much snow in winter but I have a feeling we're really going to get dumped this season.

Perhaps, lack of heat this past summer compared to the year before?

Debating whether I should pick up some snow tires.

Missed the snow last year, but this year it's gotten quite cold much earlier than last year. Plus, the Farmer's Almanac predicts plenty of snowfall

my tercel with all seasons was my winter car. I didn't miss a single day of work driving 40 miles each way.

but then it all depends on how comfortable you are driving in the snow.

They're def not required around here (a/s are fine), but if you have the cash, they're very nice.
