sweet jesus...
it took me an hour to drive what is usually a quick 9-mile commute home. it ended up being more than 9 miles, too. >=(
I was just talking about how they improved the drainage on Hunter Mill earlier, and guess what road was washed out tonight? Of course the police could not have sent someone up the road to the Toll Road intersection to warn us of this so everyone gets to parade down 1.5 mi, turn around and drive right back into Reston, back where I started. Then I got to drive the long way home.
No sooner did I finally get into Oakton that I see some guy out running in the pouring rain with only shorts and shoes. WTF?
So how was everyone else's commutes?

This morning to my surprise 66 was wide open after the Nutley exit all the way to the Beltway
some small back up on the on ramps but it was clear after that all the way to work at Blue Mash Golf Course. On the way back at around 2:30pm there was some traffic on 66 took the metro exit by your place but it wasnt bad at all today.

I was actually only 45 minutes late this morning, thanks to Dave B. picking me up
at the metro, and riding HOV on 66 into the city. My afternoon commute into Tyson's Corner from Farragut West metro was about an hour as well, only because the freakin' Orange Line trains were running slow.
We made a pit stop in Tyson's Corner for about 45 minutes...
The drive home from Tyson's to Herndon on the Toll Road was only 15 minutes, so it wasn't that bad.

that's why I love working from home... though I had to go into DC to entertain some guests
Rockcreek park was closed and a few people driving like idiots. Part of the Canal road was closed, too.

That's the way I ended up having to go
Since I had to take Hunter Mill BACK into Reston, and took the pkwy to Lawyers which connects with Hunter Mill south of the flood zone.
