Default Symphony FAIL: backlighting stays on, radio doesn't turn on/off.

Got to my car last night and as soon as I turned the key, the radio backlighting comes on. Weird. Start up the car, and tried to turn on radio - fail. Push all buttons, turn car off / back on, and nothing. I Call my super secret car guy and he tells me to pull the fuse. Apparently, there's a sale going on with all VW/Audi radios. I looked mine up, and it's on sale for $150. Hopefully there'll be one in stock somewhere locally.

Or, I can go aftermarket. T

Thanks super secret car guy.

If it's the same headunit as my S4, I've got a spare for you.

Default Very common on the 02 Symphony radios actually

There was a recall on them back in the day. Check with the dealership before you spend money on a new radio.

You think they'll warranty a 7 y/o radio?

Default Pull the fuse and let it sit for a few minutes, plug it back in....

same thing happened to mine once and that fixed it, never happened again. It never went into safe mode, so I didn't need the code.

Default Doh! I'll try that tonight when I get home. Hopefully it won't go into safe mode.

Now where did I write down the code?
