Is there a rule-of-thumb when getting auto insurance for liability-only or full coverage?

Default Is there a rule-of-thumb when getting auto insurance for liability-only or full coverage?

I'm trying to get quotes for 2 cars, mine and my wife's. Both our cars are paid off, KBB values my car at approx $7k and hers at $2k.

Default if the difference between the 2 policy's not huge, get full.

i have liability only for my $5k and $2k car...full for my bike and $10k car.
