thx to the FFX Co. cop who just gave me a drive-by "warning" this AM. My luck must be changing!

...thus enacting the automatic-reckless rule that was going to come into play....one month later...
OK, from what I understand, the decision whether or not to ticket for reckless for 20+ over was removed from the constabulary in June 2006, thus requiring every officer to go to court for each 20-plus-over ticket.
From what my attorney (fmr FFX Co. police) told me, this didn't sit well with the troopers and local officers, so all during the month of May, they were writing as many Reckless tix as possible to flood the courts in protest.
Well, Mittendork, next time, I'd rather not risk my driving record over your little protest efforts. Suck it up and vote or letter-write like the rest of us without a badge.
Oh, and before you ask about the witness in my car who LOOKED at my speedometer when he saw the cruiser - my attorney advised against bringing him. Just as well - my judge ignored everyone else's witnesses (and they were quite credible; one pair very aptly described a situation where the officer really couldn't clearly see them), and even chastized me for talking to my friends on a cell phone while driving. My friends were in the car.
"Well, uh, you shouldn't talk to your passengers in the car while you drive, either," commented the judge.
Just another gentle reminder that I'm in the South.

That ticket you reference is over two years old, but I am glad that you remember it so well and I hope that you no longer drive at such high speeds as the roads are dangerous enough. Thanks for mentioning me in your thread as I am glad I made an impression on you. I still keep your ticket as a keepsake
