Im a newbie to the audi tuning world. I live in ffx, just came back from Iraq and I am lookin into getting my 2004 A4 1.8t quattro 6sp. into shape (i.e starting my first mods) any suggestions as to what i should start out doing first, and if so is there any places local you would recommend? Thanks guys

but I won't focus on that single number... maximizing the "area under the torque curve" (torq ploted against rpm) would be more effective on power mods. And don't forget 'drivability': you don't want the boost to come on so strong and abrupt that it 'snaps your neck back' but a pain to modulate.

Come out to one of the Potomac Chapter Audi Club events and learn how to drive before modding too much. It might change your mind on what you really want to modify on the car.

BTW, welcome back from Iraq. Thanks for serving our country.

From my perspective, the community is certainly the best part - the support I got from this Forum and the people at the track was incredible when my car blew a turbo back in November.
The instruction is great, and well, driving your car near the limit in a safe environment is about as much fun as you can have with pants on.
Yes, you do have to join the club to drive at the events. It's a small price to pay for so much happiness.
<edit>
The chapter also does events at Summit Point - Main, Shenandoah, and Jefferson circuits. You can also go to events with other chapters, too. I did Watkins Glen with NEQ and would like to go to Mid-Ohio and Road America in the not-too-distant future.
<edit x2>
Also keep your eyes open for the Track Daze, SCCA PDX, and NASA events. Track Daze and SCCA PDX do not require membership to participate. NASA does.
