Mine white '87 had 50k less miles, immaculately clean, with meticulously compiled maintainance log book equal to aircraft log quality. I had just put in: new Timing chain, oil + H2O pump, front seal, valve + oil pan gaskets, radiator, synthetic fluids in all gear boxes, plug wires, cap 'n rotor, new tires & brakes. She had no dents or dings at all with a clean & intact interior, and everything functioning. The only negative was slight rust on the hardtop sliding window rails & rust thru on lip of wheel wells. All of that, and I let my baby go for only $1800 4 yrs ago. I was in a rush to reduce my fleet so I could keep my own self promise, before I allowed myself to buy my A4.
