Starting tomorrow, it will have been 4 weeks since I dropped off my car at the body shop for rear bumper repair. 4 weeks!
A snow-plow rear-ended me a long time ago this year and I finally had the time to get the car fixed. Progressive was the guy's insurance and their office is literally 5 minutes from my house. Their estimate came in literally at half of what 4 body shops estimated. They wanted me to use their body shop but I preferred to use one I knew. They said they couldn't do anything until I dropped off the car at the body shop before they could come out for the supplement, etc.
09/06 - Dropped off my 2001 A8L, picked up by Enterprise at the body shop, received rental car 2005 Jeep Liberty (thought it'd be fun for a *few days)
09/09 - Checked in with the body shop, they say they haven't heard anything from Progressive. I call Progressive and leave a message. No call-back.
09/13 - Check in with Progressive, leave a message, no call-back.
09/15 - Check in with body shop, they say they spoke to Progressive and the adjuster was coming out tomorrow with his supervisor.
09/19 - Check in with body shop, they say the adjuster never came out. Call Progressive, speak with other adjusters and then finally supervisor. Says they will follow up.
09/20 - Check in with Progressive, leave a message, no call-back.
09/21 - Finally speak with my adjuster, says he needs to wait on paperwork (2 days) but has agreed to solution with body shop.
09/22 - Check in with Progressive, leave a message, no call-back
09/26 - Check in with Progressive, leave a message, no call-back
09/27 - Speak with my adjuster, says paperwork is in, waiting for supervisor approval. Body shop says waiting for faxed approval which they do not receive today.
09/28 - Other Progressive adjuster says it has been approved but has not been faxed, checking on it. Speak with body shop, they finally get fax and start working on it. Say Friday car will be ready.
09/30 - Call body shop, say it's not ready yet. Wait for Monday.
10/03 - Call body shop, missing a part to attach rear sensor. Will be ready hopefully Monday.
At which point it will be over 4 weeks since I've handed them my car. Most of the time it has been sitting in their parking lot with the bumper and trim sitting in the passenger seat.
Sigh...

was in the system that it was okay until today but the body shop delayed it once again saying a part isn't in yet so i had to call the insurance company to make sure they extended the loaner until tomorrow...
