Had a slow leak in passenger front and saw a small nail in the outer tread (not sidewall but the first row of tread). Tire shop says its not fixable due to the location. Damn and I only have 5.5k miles on it.
So on goes the spare. Is there an S4 tire curse (i.e. CHIO) I don't know about?

Try plugging it and seeing if it holds air. I've had good success with plug kits that you buy at auto parts stores.
I wouldn't track a plugged tire, but it should be fine on the street.

Try Telle Tire. unless it is in the side wall you are fine and they are patching inside. but if they are plugging no it will not work. take a picture if you can.
starting from the right side which is the outside where is it I am counting 5 different treads from the right. If it is in any of those you are fine!!!!!!!!!!!!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2Ftires.jsp%3FtireMake%3D Continental%26amp%3BtireModel%3DContiSportContact% 2B2%26amp%3BvehicleSearch%3Dtrue%26amp%3Bpartnum%3 D34YR8SPC2XL95Y%26amp%3BfromCompare1%3Dyes">http://www.tire

down the street from Parktown. CHIO the nail is in the "first" set of treads on the outside. I thought they could patch it (my request) and they said it wouldn't be a good idea since,
"When you go around corners alot of weight is transferred to that area. Many times the patch or repair will eventually go bad."
I also call BS. What do you guys think?
And to add to the BS of a day I have already had in general, the new tire (spare) looks like it has so much more tread than the others. I only have 5.5k! And I don't even drive hard around corners like MLR A4 does!!
On the bright side, they didn't charge me to put my spare on.
