Default '94 Audi 90 cs

I'm seriously eyeing a 1994 Audi 90 cs w/ the automatic transmission. It's high-mileage, 120,000 +, and I'm wondering what to expect. It seems to be in great shape. Either respond here or e-mail me at rickp@mprn.org. And many thanks.

1) Watch the catalytic converters(especially drivers side).

2) Does the A/C work?? Evaporators are a common failure. Very labor intensive to replace!!

3) Oil consumption is common. It's the engine and not the mileage. 1 qt/1000 miles is not too uncommon!!

4) Also, many people (including myself) complain about a hesitation when the car is first "leaving" in the morning!! I don't think anybody's determined exactly what causes this (new O2 sensors can help)!! If possible, test drive the car early when no one else has driven the car and see if it has this problem!!

That's the main points that come to me at the moment!!

Engine oil leaks, clunky front suspensions, and clogged EGR systems are common problems too.

Default Check to see if the catalytic converters have been replaced. this was a costly replacement for mine,

since I too am past the 80 mi warranty. I wish I would have known about this web site before I bought my Audi. I've learned a lot in the past few years from everyone here.

Good luck...
