Default Does anyone make a rear swaybar for the 5KTQ?

This pig could really use one. It doesn't have to be super-stiff, at this point anything would help. I am already looking into running 225 tires in the front and 205 in the rear because it pushes so much. I put a center Torsen in which helped, but I think a rear swaybar would be more effective than a rear Torsen. I do have the rear Torsen if anyone wants it . . . 4:11 gears but easy to swap (can go in the front too if you want).

Default Can you adapt the '92 S4 bar? (more)

Considering that the suspension is so similar, maybe you can use the S4 rear swaybar.

I still would like to see your car- too bad you're too far away. Your car sounds like the most highly modded 5ktq I've ever heard about.

To add the '92 S4 swaybar, you'd need to swap in the rear diff from that car, as it has the necessary mounts, etc. Or just do a custom and weld on what's needed.

I assume the rear torsen is the diff off a '91 V8 5-speed?

Default I know someone with an LT-1 5KQ!

I have only seen pics, but last I heard it ran and was crazy fast.

The neat thing about my car is that it doesn't look modified I really want to go to Mid-O, but it is so far away.

Default Bob Dupree (sp?) on the q-list (more)

Yeah, that's a pretty wild car, though it must be very front-heavy.

I like cars that don't look modified as well, although our A4 Avant looks modified due to the drop of the coilovers. I should have it raised to close to stock ride height so no one will know the true handling potential of the little wagon. :-)

Are you on the q-list?

I participate when I actually have some knowledge of something or have problems with my car- which is all the time.

Default That's him

I skirt the edges of the Q-list. I know several people that are active on it, and they keep me up to date. It is too much email for me to deal with. I really prefer the format of these forums, even though there are more "old school" people on the 'list.

Speaking of which, do you have a current email address for Audidudi (Jeff G)? Email it to me directly, the one I have bounced twice.

I wanted an A4 1.8 Avant. Sport wheel, sport seats, SIDEGUARD, cold weather & Xenons. I would have put in an APR chip, 17" R28's, Supersport springs & Bilsteins. Eventually it would have gotten APR stage 3 and Alcons. I almost bought one last summer, but it wouldn't have come in for 5 months and I didn't have anything to drive meanwhile. So I worked on the 5KTQ some more and now I am stuck with it. I'll try to take some pics of the sled this week.
