Default Heater core leak on 5K

I think I have a heater core leak. I've been loosing about a quart of water every week. I can't find a leak under the engine. The water is not going into the block. I checked under the glove box and I could feel moisture. It is a little filmy. Wouldn't my windshield fog up if the heater core was leaking? Would Stop Leak be O.K. for this old 84 5k if the heater core is leaking? Any advice would be helpful.
My driver's window was working this morning. When I got in the car this afternoon it wouldn't do a thing. I just replaced the switch 7 months ago. Do these things have a habit of going out?

Default I would say yes, give it a try...

but I'm not a purest and my standards are lower for old cars. Replacing the core is also a bunch of work (about a day), and the core is not cheap either. Be warned that it doesn't always work though. As far as the switch they do give trouble, but they are not all that hard to take apart and clean (they just snap together). Not sure about the console though, I didn't have an auto, but my switches just snaped in, you might want to gently try prying them up from the top or bottom. Be careful so you don't mar the finish. Also you could take off the side panel (passenger, there is less stuff in the way) and push it out from the back. That is how I got it out the first time.
