Hi,
My 99 2.8Q(30V) has a weird stalling problem. When I come to stop or when at idle the RPM's drop to almost zero, then recovers(or doesn't) and stalls, I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling. BUT, If I TURN ON the AC or HEAT, THE RPM'S WILL RISE, and the CAR WILL NOT STALL. If I keep the climate control on, the car is fine and I can drive normally. There is no hesitation and drives perfect. There is no check engine light on.
The car has gas (chevron), added dry gas, a new battery, a new ground strap, new alternator and belt, new spark plugs, and new oil and filter. I tried to clean the ISV, but couldn't find it! Does the 30v have an ISV? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! If someone has a pic of the ISV could you post it.
Thanks,
TR

...you still fighting with this thing?
Yes, your car does have an ISV (although on your car it is a IAC). It's listed in my Bentley but never shown. I've checked ETKA drawings, vacuum diagrams, Bentley and even looked myself and I cannot find it.
This doesn't help you much but it's a response. According to Bentley it does have an IAC, but I have no idea where it's at.
Good Luck!!

In the 30v the IAC was replaced by the Throttle Position Activator (V60). The (V60) is actually incorporated into the throttle body.
The new throttle position activator incorporates an electric servo motor connected to the throttle plate that controls air flow when the engine is idling. Idle speed compensation is made electronically to adjust for changes in engine load and temperature within pre-programmed limits, by moving the mechanical throttle stop, along with the throttle position sensor. The closed throttle position switch (F60) monitors the position of the throttle position actuator. The system is adaptive to compensate for wear, false air leaks, etc.
That's how it's done in the 30v....no more clogging IAC valve.
Looks like the Bentley editors missed something!!
Doesn't help you much Doc but it does answer one of your questions!! You may want to check and see if all the sensors at the throttle body are working correctly!!
