Lowering Springs

I'm thinking about getting some lowering springs for my 1988 Audi 90 2.3L. I was looking on www.nopi.com and found Spax lowering springs. I was wondering what would entail installing them on my own or should I just go to a mechanic. Also, is there any other springs that I should look at... these lower 2in front and back and are $146.52.

Advisable to get "up-rated" shocks with "lowered" springs. As the stiffer springs tend to be more
harsh on OE shocks. At minimum a new set of shocks. Also the Ur-Quattro upper strut bearing, or new OE upper strut bearings.
Normally, springs require your front struts to be
removed, or disconnect enough from the car to facilitate R&R of the springs. This is where one usually finds other components are worn!
Namely the wheel bearings & ball joint boots.....
The rear shocks are much simpler than the fronts, but have their quirks as well.
A couple "special tools" may be needed for the job.
Advisable to take to mechanic with "Audi experience", or if your a well versed mechanic, give it a go.
There's a few folks on this forum who have experience on such an undertaking!
