Default Outside temperature guage - high after drive-and-stop

I recently bought a 95 90Q and noticed that after driving, stopping, and starting again a few minutes later that the outside temperature reading says up around 110 degrees (not possible in Vermont in June) when I start it back up again. So it must be the engine temp influencing the sensor when the car is not moving - does anyone know where the thermometer is? Does anyone else have this "problem"?

Sensor is near the air intake on pass. side; it can overstate actual temp if engine is hot
