Default Power windows not working on 1990 Audi 100

Need help!

The power window switches stopped working all the sudden as did the switch for the power sunroof. The switches also do not light up anymore. Somehow there doesn't seem to be any power coming to them. I tried looking for a fuse but couldn't find any under the hood. Everything else works fine. Any suggestions?

Default It's one of three things.....

..either:

1) You have a broken door contact switch. Check the small plunger next to the door that turns on the interior light. (NOTE: If your interior light operates properly with the door opening and closing then this is not going to be the problem)

2) The sunroof/power window relay is bad in your car. This will be in the auxilary relay panel in your car. This relay is VERY large, it actually takes up two relay slots. You can't miss it!!

3) Sunroof/power window cicuit breaker. You have one but I couldn't tell you were in your car!!

HTH!!

1) That's not the problem. Interior light still works fine.

2) Could you tell me where the auxiliary relay panel is? I checked the fuse box under the hood but it doesn't have either a fuse or a relay for the power windows/sunroof.

3) I'll try to figure this out after I try the relay.

Do you have a fuse box on the driver side of the dash (door has to be open to see it).

You have to remove the kick panel below the steering wheel to get at it.

I tried all three things and it doesn't seem to be either one of them. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

How did you test the relay? Also, check for broken wires were they go into the door (@ rubber boot)

Between my Dad, my brother, and myself we own three 1990 Audi 100. My relay in their cars work fine but their relays in my car doesn't make mine work. Could it really be the wires at the door because all windows plus sunroof quit working all at once? I will check it anyway, just to make sure but I don't have my hopes up too high.

Thanks for help

Default When both quit I've only seen it be the relay. But if you switched it...

...with a known good one then that would be a good check. You did the BIG relay right??

Good Luck!! Let us know if you figure it out!!
