What is the difference between the 80 and the 90?

Well....
from '88 to '90 the 80 had a 4 cylinder. While the 90 was a 5 cyl (10v) during that time...in the US at least.
There are also quite a few minor differences...like different taillights and possible options (i.e...I don't "think" you can get an 80 with leather, power seats, automatic climate control..etc.)
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 80 is not available with painted bumpers or mirrors. (Although this might go away in the later models)
Outside the motor it's a few small things that make the 90 just slightly "ahead" of the base 80!!
NOTE: Above are the difference with the non-q's. In '88 and '89 the 80q and 90q had the same motor (10v). After (and including) '90 the 90q got the 20v motor while the 80q still recieved the 10v!! Also the 80q's had painted bumpers (but not mirrors)!!
HTH!!
