I shortened the shifter in my coupe...
...I didn't really want to shorten the throw so much as the height of the ****. I ran a tap down the shift lever about an additional 1 inch and then cut an inch off the top of the shaft. There's a white plastic spacer that holds the boot up to the bottom of the ****...i had to trim down that as well, respectively. I'm VERY satisfied; looks great, shorter shifts (duh), and took about an hour. Needed: a hacksaw, a tap/die kit, oil for cooling, and alot of elbow grease.
