Default I'd love to get a dirt bike...

people do it a bit in my town's woods, although it is illegal and they are always running from the cops. it is tempting. that would mean having to trade in my S4 for something that could actually carry a dirt bike. SV650 means I could keep the S4.

Default Lol...good call.

Like I said, take a look at the Honda 599s, too. They're a bit more rare but they're great bikes also.

Default I agree. I started on the SV650s and rode it for 2 yrs....love the torque of a twin.

It makes stepping up to the liter bikes much easier.

Default As a first bike, I'd find one that is already in working condition and ready to ride. There really

are plenty of good conditioned first bikes out there.
