Default Yep, my best time on street tires is a 2:03...

But it was also a colder track and a much windier day.

By the way, I have a friend who in her stock E36 M3 with STREET TIRES ran a 1:56 at Laguna Seca! And she's a relative beginner with only 8 or 9 track days under her belt! She is, though, impressively smooth and precise.

Default Please x-cuse my ignorance... but is there any way to find out what my times were??

or did I need to ask someone to clock me or have an in car timer etc.??

It was my first time on a track so I'm sure my times sucked, but I'm really curious!!!

What a blast!

Default I don't know, but coming out of 4, I shift to 4th, then back to 3rd before turn 5...

I brake between the markers 3-2, then turn in between 1 and cone. At one point, I checked my speed to be about 50+ going around T5, and then just chug a lug going uphill. Probably no faster than your turbo

Default probably only if you planned in advance

Most people either (1) have a lap timer in their car and a transmitter on the pit wall, or (2) are pulling their times from an in-car videocam's clock. If might be able to get an idea if someone had a video in a car that was behind you for a lap or two.

Most HPDEs discourage this (or look the other way) due to insurance reasons ("timed" events are generally excluded from coverage), so the event organizers will rarely keep times, hence you have to do it for yourself.

Default 1:58 or less..... 1.8tq Wett 1bar, H&R coilovers, g-force-R1a's

That was during my first run of the day on Thursday.
Didn't time my afternoon runs on Friday, but I was hooked up and jammin......It felt faster than Thursday's runs, but who can say for sure.

I even had my first spin ever at the track!!! Light Rain Turn 6 Race tires - NO CONTACT! - Had rotated fronts to rears for even wear of the race tires and forgot to lower the pressure in the fronts. When I came in for the black flag I had Steve take 3 pounds of air out of the fronts and for the rest of the session the car was balanced. Amazing what a few pounds of air can do!!

Great event!

Default Would That Be Margaret Cheng? . . .

. . . if so, she's a very good driver, especially for her experience level. She was at my Laguna Seca event and I got to instruct her on the last session of the second day. After our ride, I'll bet she took another second off; she improved substantially throughout the session, which is always a good sign.

Default Yep...

She was on street tires that day (as she is everyday, as she refuses to run on R Compounds until she gets "better"...though she's damned good already) and running around 2:02 in the clear. I think the cold and the wind slowed her down on Tuesday as her instructor on Monday clocked her in 1:56, and I have video of her from Monday running an "easy" 1:58.

By the way, I was very happy to be be within a second of her time on Tuesday...I ran 2:03 on my street tires as well and beat Todd, who managed only a 2:10 in my car!

Okay, he drove just two laps and was deliberately going slow to show me the proper way to apex...but I still beat him!
