Audi Club Driving Schools, RULES CHANGED

yeah... I watched that hit.
I went and checked out that area during the Vintage GP a couple weekends back and realized that if the fence (that may have caused him to come to rest on the roof) weren't there he may have gone over the tire wall and left the track completely. The rear of the car was ~7' in the air during impact.

yeah, i was there too. didn't see it happen, but I was on the track at the time...
My friend wrecked his A4 at WG1 in the same place.
Even worse, before the black 328 rolled, we were just in class talking about what to do if there was a problem in turn 10...

RULES CHANGED--follow-up
You might be interested in reading some of the comments at the EVENT FORUM, similar topic!
The point is that AUDI puts on AUDI DRIVER ENHANCEMENT COURSES---not racing schools. They offer one on one instruction and stress SAFETY FIRST. Yet, now the Audi Club limits convertibles/roadsters (except race prepared), and SUV/SAV vehicles..limiting their own customers w. TT's, Q7---from enhancing their driving skills and understanding their vehicle better!--Which is the point of these EVENTS!
Granted, WE all expand the envelope a little, but given the nature of these "DRIVER ENHANCEMENT COURSES"---shouldn't these people who are AUDI customers be allowed to participate?

Is the "Driver Enhancement Course" moniker for insurance purposes?
As opposed to "High Performance Driver Education"...
I ask because in my region the Audi "schools" seem much more timid to another marquee's HPDE. I think that Audi is a good place to go lapping and have fun, but if driver development is your prioirty, then there are better groups to sign up with.

ACNA is the club, Audi is the company
ACNA puts on driver schools run by local chapters and instructed by fellow audi owners. So their insurance needs to keep all higher hazard vehicles out. SUVs and softtops are dangerous if something goes wrong. Not much affiliation with AUdi North America here.
Audi NA still puts on the occasional driving school for newer audis which is more like an academy where you brake test, race a slalom, do avoiding, test out ESP, etc. That will allow any NEW audi within 3 or 4 years of age.

I saw it happen too...
I was messing with my brakes, heard tires screeching, and looked over to that area just as the car flipped up on it's end. I sure was glad to see him scramble out after 10 seconds.
