B5-S4 track tire input - Michelin, Pirelli, Yokohama or Toyo? Upgrading from RT-615s and am looking

at Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, Pirelli P Zero Corsa Asimmetricos, Toyo RA-1s, or Yokohama A-048s (perhaps 046, not sure but understand I need the medium hard compound).

I think (not sure) that Kumho V710s came out on top. But if you factor in the effects of heat (tracking versus autocross) the BFG R1 and Hoosier A6 seem to be very strong. These are basically slicks unlike the Toyo RA-1.

the nice thing about the RA-1s is that they don't suffer badly from multiple heat cycles like a lot of other R compound tires. I'm still running RA-1s that are 2 years old and they're good!

and budget?
Do you want to be the fastest guy on the track, or do you want something stickier that you have now and that wears well?
From a mixture of personal experience and reputation:
Michelin: expensive, last a long time, fairly sticky
Pirelli: pretty expensive, don't perform as well
Toyo: the benchmark DE tire. sticks fairly well, not as expensive, and last a long time when cared for properly (rotated + flipped on the rim)
Have heard mixed things about the yokos, but not enough to be able to compare them to the other tires listed.

I mentioned the Michelins, and your comments back up what I've heard. Unfortunately I'm running 235/40/18 and that eliminates the Toyos, so now I'm looking at the Nitto NT-01s - neilm had some good thinsg to say about them earlier this year. I'd be willing to pop for the Michelins if the longevity warranted the premium, but as this will be my second set of track tires, I'm likely to try the Nittos before the Michelins from a pragmatic perspective. The treadwear rating is 100 vs 200 on the Falkens, so I should see the additional grip I'm looking for. Plus the Falkens were greasy as the temps built up. A friend in his spec miata jokingly asked me what the noise was when we were out on the track as his RA1s are quiet given the limited weight of a SM compared to the S4.
