which is pretty cool
Of course, the Toyota is not exactly at the pointy end of the F1 grid, and even if it was, being the fastest racecars in the world wouldn't solve the problems Champ Car has, but that's another story...

Seabass ran the fastest lap of the day, breaking the Laguna Seca track record set by Ricardo Zonta in a Toyota TF106 F1 car. He was about a second quicker at 1:05.880 and won the $5000.00 prize for doing so (lol).

doesn't mean the same will apply at Montreal
I'll bet $$ that if there was a true race weekend effort put through that Toyota that weekend at the Historics, you would've seen a quicker time.

Champ Car isn't running at Montreal, so we'll never know.
I did point out that this doesn't mean Champ Cars are faster than F1 cars. Regardless, pretty good bang for the buck considering the vasts sums on money Toyota pours into their spectacularly underachieving F1 team.
Great sig, btw

yeah, it's pretty impressive any way you cut it. of course, it's possible SB was running w/ extra
boost since it was just practice, like early-'00s spec when the champ cars were over 900bhp.

He was using the push to pass button, but did not have the boost turned up for the base tune
Probably worth a couple of tenths, but he would have been under the record without it. I'd love to see these cars with another couple of hundred horsepower though.
