Can anyone comment about the Falken RT615 on the track?

I'll be in the market for new "affordable" street/track tires in a month or two. I've currently got the Hankook R-S2, but they tramline very badly on rough roads, so I would like to try something different.
I've heard some good things about the Falkens, but I've also heard one guy say that they get greasy after a few laps, and are more of an autox tire. Is this true? Would this not make a good street/track tire? Otherwise I may give the Toyo T1R a try.
Has anyone had firsthand track experience with the RT615?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/63138/track_tires_006.jpg"></center><p>I run 245x45x17's on my B6S4 (on Ronal LV Spiders).
I think for a combo street/track tire they are among the best. A great improvement over my KDW2's on the track. I don't use them in the wet - I stay with the KDW2's if there is standing water, but would run the Falken's if the wet was only misting.
Having said that, I wish I had gone full "R" compound when getting this tire. My next will probably be a set of Toyo RA-1's.
Why? ... While the Falkens are a very good "compromise," that's what they are...a compromise. On the track I'm looking for more grip than I get from these.
But if you will have these for both street and track use, then I'd be hard pressed to recommend anything better.
Just my $.02.

These may well be my next tires for summer and track use. But if you do not use them on the track in the wet, are they safe on the street in the wet?

Why not 18's? Several who track use 17's, non using 18's.

street tire that last about as long as my S03s with better even wear (until I ran too much psi and the rears went bald - my bad).
my understanding is that the 615s are better in the rain than the 215s, which, once they got below 5/32", standing water was an issue. I couldn't get over 70mph on the back at MidOhio in the rain.

of guys who drive them all year round (no snow), and find them very acceptable.
Having said that....just grow into them...get a feel for their handling and grip in the wet before getting too aggressive.

distance is the same (like 235x40x18 vs 245x45x17; the 245/17 stands only 1/4 inch taller than the 235/18, and rolls less than 2% shorter than the 18"), the whole assembly is lighter. (Rubber weighs less than the metal of the wheel.) This means quicker acceleration out of turns etc. It IS noticeable. With most track tires (and the RT 615 is no exception) the sidewalls are beefed up to handle greater lateral loads and the tendency to roll over when loaded.
