Default Ah, the "Sucker Car" - actually, they were two-stroke snowmobile motors...

...or at least that's what the legend is. I never saw it myownsef. I have seen the Can-Am rulebook from that era - it's just one page ! Cool !
Build the motor as big as you want ! Just make it weigh x amount per cubic inch. Front tires could be x wide. Rear tires could be x.5 wide. You have to have a rain lite. It can't leak stuff. (end of rulebook).

Racing has never been closer or wilder since. Current F1 racing makes me puke. High speed parade laps ain't racin. Take the wings off, lose some aero and tire, and let those boys beat on each other.

Default John, I have pics of the vaccuum cleaner on my home computer...

...I'll post them tonight.

Do I win something for knowing the sponsors? Maybe a ride in one of your beaters at the track to see what I am leaving on the table? Or maybe you can drive my fat pig of a car and show me what I am leaving there.

Mike O.

P.S. Just because I know the answer doesn't mean I am a seasoned citizen. I'm a 31 year old whipper snapper.

Those snowmobile engines made more HP than my Beetle.

Jim Hall was certainly a genius. I also have pics of his tunnel "vacuum" F1 car somewhere from '77 or '78 but I can't find them on my PC.

Hope you enjoy them,
Mike O.
