Mr. Hobbs was actually driving/racing in the historics in a BMW...
Saw Mr. Hobbs on the Speedvision coverage of the Historics. Unfortunately vintage BMW had problems and he was an early DNF. Too bad, it looked like it would have been a fun car to drive. I met David Hobbs at the Detroit Grand Prix (along various other race-scene celebs)last month. I've always loved those British accents - so distinguishing. ;-)

No, he was in the IMSA GTP Class winning 320i Turbo . . . .
Which I saw at Road America years ago, and that is when I first met David and Derek Bell. After that, we used to meet and chat for quite a few years after. But that was the LAST year BMW won IMSA, as well as entered the 320iT. What a firebreathing monster it was too! Blew away all the Porsche's like they were standing still (at that time).
