Default Yeah, I was thinking of Mark's...I know Mark relatively well.

I haven't driven it..but I have been on track with it...when I was driving my Audi. I like the ability to go to track events without towing the car....like I have to now. I do have a trailer...but I am selling my tow vehicle (2000 Tahoe).

I am on the PDC list as well.

Default BTW, I bought it mostly that way...

I did redo the engine twice now. I have added the front spoiler...will probably remove the rear wing as a test...and am looking into an accusump and a bigger oil cooler. I also have Garrett Lim from GIAC doing me a chip in the near future. Lastly, I will probably get some custom suspension links done by a friend that offered to do a custom job for me.

Default he has camber plates, though, so he probably has to tow

for non-local events

Default I doubt it

and yes, he's somewhat trivializing a problem that many people struggle for their lives with.

understand your point. but his comparison is fairly obviously an absurd one

and all the 'addict' lingo for tracks (track addict, junkie, etc) has roughly the same effect.

Default In addition to...

..being a Ducati head (which we both have in common), Mr. Egan has been flogging a Formula Continental around SCCA Regionals and Nationals for at least the last 20 (or so) years. I've even watched him beating a Morris Minor race car around Sebring at a vintage race enduro about a decade ago. He's got the skills and experience, and clearly (Morris Minor race car ?!?!?) doesn't have any big ego problems.

Seems as cool in person as he does in his writing.

Default funny story...

in eighth grade, I had to write a report for english class on a possible career, or something I was interested in. I chose journalism...

so naturally, I called up Road & Track and interviewed Peter Egan :-)

He was a great person to talk to, and a fantastic source for my report.

...and I still aspire to the gentleman racer/mechanic/writer ideal. Hopefully I'll get there at some point soon.

Default What class is your 325?

Is it legal for any BMWCCA races? My E30 M3 is a freakin blast, but boy, if that engine ever lets go... I wouldn't even put an S14 back in it. It would be about as much to put in a 95 M3 engine.

If you REALLY wanna have insane amounts of fun, get a little Honda and help start up a NASA West Coast Honda-Challenge. There are folks over there already itching to start it up after hearing about our East Coast version.

I'm REALLY starting to love fwd cars. You can get them to do things that will scare the bejeezus out of rwd guys.

Default such as?

I've heard the type r is an incredibly dynamic, fluid handler. I've driven a GSR, but never on the track... what sorts of things are you thinking about?
