It appears that Carlos Slim is set to become the new owner of Honda. Slim is the #2 richest man in the world behind Warren Buffet #1. Slim also controls the Mexican telecommunication company Telmex - Telmex is the main sponsor of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sebates. In keeping with the basis of Telmex Racing, he would replace Rubens with Bruno Senna (Senna/Button F1 team). This would definitely be the break Senna (who is sponsored by Embratel, a Brazilian subsidiary of Telmex)is looking for and on the flip side perhaps get Rubens (part time)into the P1 Acura of deFerran.
Among Slim's other holdings are the mobile phone company America Movil and he recently increased his stake in Saks to 18 percent. At the start of December his Inbursa brokerage in Mexico bought $150 million (USD) of shares in Citigroup after their price sank to levels not seen since the early 1990's.
It could potentially mean the return of F1 to North America in Mexico, which could be a good thing.
This guy is definitely not a "fly-by-night" person and does have a very active racing program already in place.
Time will tell.
