I was pretty annoyed at the performance of the SP9000 Dunlops at the autocross yesterday. I need track/autox tires again...so, I called Eddie at Tirerack and got the Kumhos....I got them shaved to 4/32...and will heat cycle them myself. I can't see paying $15/tire (or $60 total) just to warm up my tires...and then let them sit for 24-48 hours.
On August 14th...for the NASA track day...I should be set. I will post impressions as soon as possible.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

from Tirerack. I went with 225-50-15. Yes you read that right 15. I have a set of forged BBS wheels (15 x 7.5 and very light) from my 200q 20V (RIP) that I'm gonna use on the track. I figure the 1.25 inch smaller tire diameter (compared to stock tires) will give me another 16mm reduction in ride height and a 5% lower overall gear ratio. This may help me keep those pesky chipped 1.8T off my tail.
