...since his car is still over 3200lbs. It wouldn't be very easy to pull off on the Audi. Sharon and I are running 800lb/1100lb springs (with 245 Hoosiers), and I'm pretty sure if the tires stuck out that far, they'd rub like crazy.
To run those tires sticking way out like that, you'd probably have to raise the ride height quite a bit. That's a sacrifice, since you'd be raising the roll center of the car, which is probably a large detriment since there are so many transitions in autox.
Also, that Ian guy is active on the national SM list. He plans on attending nationals, but that doesn't mean he's gonna win. Hehehehehe.... :-)

Hey if you want to beat the civic or the talon, you might want to consider selling your car. There is now way the Audi's can beat the lighter car unless you start stripping out the interior and have the car set up like the speed vision S4.

I just ran at Atco yesterday. It was consistantly running high 14s with 1.9 to 2.0 60' times. There obviously was a problem. I was pulling those numbers with my GIAC chip with the k03.
I'm going to post some 1/8 mile times since this is more relevant to AutoX speeds.
GIAC K03(50lb rollers)*****stg3(40lb rollers)
----------------------------------------------
60'********1.916**************1.995
330********5.998**************6.061
1/8********9.448**************9.309
Both are my best runs from each setup. I am pretty consistant at the drags.
As you can see, a GIAC K03 is almost identical to my stg3(current state of tune) up to ~70mph. The stg3 even has 40lbs less rotational mass. The K03 will have much better low end response coming out of tight turns in 2nd gear.
Ed did very well in the last autoX. I have to clarify I do not have an advantage in power =) Something is wrong with my setup and I'm still working on finding out what's wrong.
